Staying home while sick can be a total bummer, but if you think about it, there are actually a lot of enjoyable, constructive, or productive things to do at home. No reason to get bored really, especially if you can still get up and move about. You don’t need to feel depressed just because everyone else is in school or at work. Think of it as a chance for more ‘me time,’ think of it as a vacation.
Surfing the web is one of those things that I automatically think of doing, whether or not I’m sick or whether or not I’m home, actually. Checking your email and your social media accounts, reading interesting articles, visiting interesting sites, online gaming, multimedia streaming, and yes, online shopping, are just a few of the things you can do on the Internet. Other than Facebook and Twitter, there are actually more creative and unique venues for you to interact, such as Pinterest, and even Tumblr. These are things you can do even when you’re sick. All you need is a laptop and a stable Internet connection, and already you can do these things while in a reclined position, even in bed.
Blogging is another one of those things to do by yourself at home. You also need an Internet connection to do this, and you will find many online resources where you can blog. WordPress.com is really popular and easy to use, but there are other places you can go to, such as Blogger, Weebly and Livejournal.
You don’t have to be a professional writer to start a blog. It can be a personal blog where you can rant and rave about everything under the sun, or a channel for you to express your meaningful views regarding certain things. If you’re a mother, you can talk about the joys and hardships of motherhood. If you love to cook you can share recipes and pictures of your concoctions. You can blog about something as simple as what happens in your daily life. You can blog about being a stay at home wife. Blogging is the new age way to own a diary or journal!
